Hi everyone, I've kept quiet about this on the blog but my sister Mary who is only 32 years old is battling cancer for the second time. Long story short, we're praying for a miracle. Will you please join me in praying this prayer for her cure sometime before this Sunday? It would mean so much to me and my family.
O God, merciful Father, you granted your servant Álvaro, Bishop, the grace of being an exemplary pastor in the service of the Church, and a most faithful son and successor of Saint Josemaría, the founder of Opus Dei. Grant that I too may respond faithfully to the demands of the Christian vocation, turning all the circumstances and events of my life into opportunities to love you and serve the kingdom of Jesus Christ. Deign to glorify your servant Álvaro, and through his intercession grant me the favor I request ... (here make your petition). Amen.
Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory be to the Father.
Also, if anyone would like to pass along this prayer request, it would be greatly appreciated.
Of course, my sister Jessica said all of this way better than I did. For a little more about my sister, the miracle we are asking for, and the not-yet-canonized saint (aka servant of God) we are praying to, pop on over to Housewifespice.
Update 5/16/12 Thanks for the prayers, everyone! There have been small victories everyday, and we are hopeful. God has a plan in all this, we're just waiting to learn more about what it is. Keep 'em coming!
Update 11/1/2012 Today is Mary's birthday. While she left this earth on July 17th this year, she is still looking down on us from heaven, like the Eric Clapton song, but better. In Jessica's words: Somethings About Mary that I Don't Want to Forget
